It is held in all
universities in its faculties on a regular basis - scientific seminars, in what
is called a “seminar”, which is a scientific discussion in a particular
discipline, organized by the scientific department in that college or that
scientific institute, and certainly attended by graduate students registered
for master’s and doctoral degrees, professors, faculty members and their
assistants; Where a student presents a research or study that has already been
completed and published in a journal or scientific periodical, or presents the
research plan that he will implement; In order to take the opinions and
suggestions of other researchers, by presenting them for constructive
criticism; To modify, add, or delete any part of the research plan, and this
episode is very useful for scholars and researchers, but I will not go into
much of that point; Because it is almost closed to that scientific academy in
which this scientific meeting is organized, which is either on a weekly basis,
or on a monthly basis, but what I will elaborate on in the coming lines is the
issue of the public’s attendance, and at all cultural and intellectual levels,
for public scientific discussions, for messages and theses Master’s and
doctoral degrees, which are held with the large number of colleges in
universities and the large number of graduate students registered to obtain
scientific degrees, the university is not free now from the presence of one or
more discussions, every day in one of the scientific departments in its many
colleges.
Until the late 1990s,
discussions of master’s and doctoral theses were closed in all Egyptian
universities. That is: it is not public, only an announcement is placed on the
notice boards of the college and the scientific department, and the discussion
and judgment committee attends the thesis, and it meets in one of the rooms of
the scientific department, or for example: in the room of one of the professors
supervising the student, or the room of the head of the department, Or the
headquarters of the college council meetings, and the door is closed to the
committee and the student, and no person, relative, lover, or friend is allowed
to attend, and after a period of long or short time, five minutes, or even five
hours, then the door is opened, and it is announced that the researcher has
obtained the degree Scientific, and it ends with that.
In the past years, and
until now, universities have changed the regulations for graduate studies, and
it has become necessary to hold scientific discussions openly, and the public,
researchers, specialists, and non-specialists are invited to attend, and the
date is announced several days before it; So that an advertisement is placed in
which the name of the university, the college, the scientific department, the
title of the thesis, the name of the researcher, the names of the supervision,
governance and discussion committees, and the writing of their positions and
scientific titles, in front of the name of each one of them.
There are many colleges
that have websites on the Internet, and they have a door for news, which
everyone can view, especially since the use of the Internet has become easy for
many people, after using Internet applications for communication and
international communications, so the Internet is in everyone’s hands and
holding it in his hand through The mobile phone, instead of sitting in cafes,
or in front of television screens, and flipping the remote control over the
satellite channels, I invite everyone to go to the discussion rooms and
scientific conferences in colleges and scientific institutes, which have become
widespread in all major cities, to attend this scientific discussion free of
charge available; In order to get acquainted with other people, he certainly
has not met them before, and it is possible that he will not see them again,
and he will listen to professors and senior scholars in their field of
specialization, and get acquainted with the new reached by the researcher who
wrote the scientific thesis, and gain the experience of the scientific
atmosphere, and the attendees can Recording what caught their attention or
their attention in this scientific meeting in a small notebook that they carry
in their pockets, and even taking a picture of the discussion platform, and
conveying this to the world of journalism, media, blogs, and social networking
sites, and writing the most important information and new knowledge gained by
friends and all humans, from through the Internet; Everyone is now eager to
attend seminars and workshops in the fields and sciences of human development,
and even reserves a seat days and weeks before it, and pays tens or even
hundreds of pounds, for this lecture, or that training course, in return for
almost daily one or more discussions in one or more colleges. The faculties of
the university located in his city or governorate, if we enumerate the benefits
of attending these scientific sessions, we would need several pages to list
them, but they can be summarized in the following points:
• Knowing new people
outside the personal and social framework of the human being.
• Acquiring a lot of information and scientific knowledge,
whether old or new, in the field of specialization of the research being
discussed.
• Gaining many theoretical, practical and scientific
experiences.
• Getting acquainted with the world of scientific research,
postgraduate studies and research.
• Any person who loves science and knowledge can go to these
discussions with a loving heart, an open and open mind, and a thinking eye.
With repeated attendance and recording of everything he heard and saw, this
person would turn into a professional scientific journalist editor, and a
scientific reporter for local and international newspapers and magazines.
• Encouraging a love of science and learning, and continuing
education until the last minute in a person's life.
• Urging to read, study, and research information he heard that
attracted his attention.
Getting acquainted with
the scientific departments, and the precise disciplines of science, and even
more accurately, whether the college is scientific or literary.
• Knowing the protocol and arrangement of the scientific
discussion, how to manage scientific sessions, the way the researcher presents
his research results, the most important findings, and how to implement those recommendations.
• Scientific research,
especially applied research, is based on solving one of the problems facing a
particular segment of society, or a sector of the economic sectors, or to
develop political or social life, which appears in the local, regional, or
humanitarian community, and therefore the attendees will learn about What is
the problem, the different ways to solve it and deal with it, the most
important or best means that the researcher has reached to treat it, and what
are the points that the researcher recommends to be studied by researchers and
scholars in the future, after he finished his current study.
• The human element, and meeting face to face, will remain one
of the indispensable means, no matter how advanced the means and methods of
communication and communication between humans in acquiring knowledge, teaching
and learning, with the spread of virtual universities, institutes and research
centers, discussion room, virtual scientific seminars, and asynchronous and
synchronous education about After all, the traditional universities, the
professor-student relationship, the professor-society relationship, and the
researcher-society relationship will remain the same, in a classic and direct
form.
• Maximizing the benefit of the university's role in serving the
community and developing the local environment.
Filling the discussion
halls in colleges, instead of leaving them empty unless the researcher invited
or accompanied a large group of friends, acquaintances, relatives and neighbors
to attend the discussion of the thesis. With large numbers inside the
discussion hall, the picture is complete, and the goal is achieved from the
publicity of the event, and a large number come out of the hall with several
information They convey new ones to people and the street, and accordingly the
gradual cumulative development of the human self takes place.
This topic is extremely
important to all members of society, from all Sunni segments, and it needs a
campaign to raise awareness and encourage entering universities, colleges,
institutes, and research centers, and to break the psychological barrier
between the street and science halls. , But the important thing is how, and to
another meeting in the presence of scientific research.
