Chemical Constituents And Antifungal Properties Of Organic Extracts Of Ocimum basilicum Against Bipolaris And Cochliobolus Spp . The main constituents of the ethyl acetate extract of Ocimum basilicum were methyl cinnamate (58.43%), camphor (6.14%) and 1,8-cineole (4.55%), while butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) (14.10%), trans-caryophyllene (9.66%), phytol (9.61%), neophytadiene (9.61%) and methyl cinnamate (7.43%) were the major compounds in the methanol extract, when were analyzed by GC–MS. Effect Of Crude Methanolic Extracts Of Some Medicinal Plant Flowers On Solid Ehrlich Tumor In Mice. Crude methanolic extracts of Cynara Cardunculus, Achillea millefolium, Calendula officinalis, and Matricaria chamomilla flowers belong to family Compositeae were used in this work to study their efficiency to relief solid ehrlich tumor in mice. The more effective extract was with that of C. officinalis which decreased tumor size from 513.6 to 124.5mm at a dose of 200mg/kg body weight comparing with doxorubicin which reduced tumor size to 98.2mm in concentration of 15mg/kg after 21 days, followed by M. chamomilla which showed the mean value of 157.1mm. While, the lowest values were with C. cardunculus and A. millefolium flowers extract which were 184.3 and 210.9mm, respectively. Satirn as pesticide inhibitor for the corrosion of the galvanized iron in wastewater and its biological effect on Escherichia coli . Satirn is a type of the pesticides has been evaluated as green inhibitor for the corrosion of the galvanized iron in saline solution which was investigated by chemical and electrochemical measurements. The results of polarization showed that satirn acts as mixed type inhibitor. Inhibition was found to increase with the increase of satirn concentration reaching to approximately 90% at 250 ppm. The inhibitive action was discussed by the adsorption of a stable complex on the metal surface. The adsorption of satirn on the metal surface obeys Temkin adsorption isotherm. Application of GC/EIMS in Combination with Semi-Empirical Calculations for Identification and Investigation of Some Volatile Components in Basil Essential Oil. Volatile components in the extracts of basil leaves ( Ocimum basilicum L.) were identified by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) with electron ionization (EI) mode. The major volatile components of basil under investigation are α -pinene, sabinene, β -pinene, d-limonene, eucalyptol, l-linalool and estragole. Electron ionization mass spectra of these compounds have been obtained and investigated.
